A Brief History
Melton Plastics started life in 1972 as a sole trader to provide injection moulding and tool making services to then burgeoning Scottish consumer white goods and later electronics manufacturing sectors. In 1980 the company started trading as a Limited company. Over the years Melton Plastics Ltd. has provided injection moulding services and manufactured injection moulding tools for a broad range of sectors, such as building & construction, electrical, defence, oil & gas, healthcare, aerospace, etc. In September 2016 the original owner decided to take a well-deserved retirement and the company started its evolution under the current management.
A New Beginning
With its 20 plus years of plastics experience, the new management has brought a fresh new approach and energy to Melton Plastics Ltd. With a goal of becoming a leading injection moulding, tooling and sub-contract manufacturer to service UK and markets beyond, the new management has started extensive investment in the latest manufacturing equipment, CAD/CAM and systems software. With a commitment to quality, Melton Plastics Ltd. has started its journey towards formalising its effective quality systems towards ISO certifications. Starting in 2018 the company will see significant investment in changes to the layout of the facility in Scotland to optimise manufacturing efficiencies and bring this value to our existing and new customers. What We Do
At the heart of it all, we are highly experienced injection moulders. We design and manufacture moulding tools for our customers and then supply them with parts based on their requirements. We do post-moulding operations, such as hot-foil stamping, pad printing, precision machining and secondary assembly of moulded components. In addition to thermoplastic injection moulding we offer compression and direct screw transfer (DST) moulding of thermoset materials. We set ourselves apart from other trade moulders through our extensive knowledge of thermoplastic materials and application development together with being a one-stop shop of tooling, moulding, design consultancy and post moulding operations.
